What is CBD oil?

I hope you want to find out what is CBD oil?

CBD products have hit the mainstream. Even people who have long been against the use of cannabis are opening their minds to it. You can see that CBD has been recently covered in the media, and you may have even seen it as an add-in booster to your post-workout smoothie or morning coffee.

What is CBD oil exactly? Why is it suddenly so popular? Here we have prepared a short explanation below.

There are two of the main compounds in cannabis plant are THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (canabidiol). These compounds have different effects.

Until recently, THC was the best-known compound in cannabis. It is the most active constituent, and it has a psychoactive effect. It creates a mind-altering “high” when a person smokes it or uses it in cooking. This is because THC breaks down when a person applies heat and introduces it into the body.

Canabidiol, in contrast, is not psychoactive. It does not change a person’s state of mind when they use it. However, it may produce significant changes in the body, and it is showing some significant medical benefits.

Canabidiol is one of many cannabinoids (compounds) in the cannabis plant.  It is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis.  Researchers have been looking at the possible therapeutic uses of CBD oil.

Some studies have shown that cannabidiol possesses significant antioxidant and neuroprotective properties that appear to be beneficial in the treatment of neurological disorders.

Other studies have shown CBD helps people keep a clear head while easing their suffering from chronic pain, neuropathic pain, sleep disorders, arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, muscle spasms, epilepsy, nausea, and headaches.

In fact, the FDA approved the CBD drug Epidiolex in 2018 for patients as young as two years old in the treatment of seizures associated with two forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and Dravet syndrome.
